Winning with Riesling!!! We never get tired of it! Known as Dr. Deinhard for the first 142 years, the 100-acre estate in Deidesheim was renamed Von Winning ("fon vinning") when Achim Niederberger purchased it in 2007. There is a Deinhard winery in Mosel, but there is no relation and certainly no mistaking Mosel and Pfälzer Rieslings. The Pfalz region is noted for its red sandstone & volcanic soils and sunny, warm, dry weather that yields Germany's fuller-bodied wines. So, if you prefer a dry Aussie/Alsatian-style Riesling with good concentration, check out this Trocken with notes of salty minerals over pears, nectarines, preserved lemon, and lilacs. Dry at 12%ABV.
