Fontodi Chianti Classico is organic 100% Sangiovese gathered from various vineyards across the property in Panzano's Conca d'Oro. All the fruit is fermented in steel with indigenous yeasts for three weeks and aged in larger casks and French oak for at least 18 months. Unlike Fontodi's Flaccianello della Pieve and Vigna del Sorbo, this Classico is approachable now or able to rest in the cellar as long as you can resist it.
2020 knocks it out of the park with rich fruit, wildflowers, dried meat, savory herbs, spice, cherry, crushed stones, red licorice, and grilled plums. Decant now or cellar for a few more years.
