Azienda Agricola Cantrina takes its name from the small rural village where Cristina and Diego tend to their 20 acres of organic vines, not too far from the shores of Lake Garda, Lombardy. For geography buffs, Bardolino and Valpolicella are located on the eastern side of the lake in Veneto. This Chiaretto [kee-ah-re-toe, a local term for rosé of indigenous Gropello] comes from the DOC of Valtènesi, which is bathed in sunlight and protected by an amphitheater just south of the Alps. A Rose is a Rose is 100% Gropello macerated for six hours and steel-fermented/aged in a matter of months. The rosy color gets your tastebuds ready for fresh wild strawberry, citrus, sour cherry, and mineral notes.
