The clear bottle, crown cap, and color will trick you into thinking Le Social Traitre (the social traitor) is a Pet-nat orange wine. Not true. It's an Alsatian blend of direct-press, free-run Riesling, Silvaner, and Pinot Blanc that was supplemented with de-stemmed Pinot Noir pomace (crushed skins, seeds, and flesh) for a more effective fermentation--hence the rosy color. Raisin Sauvage (wild grape) is fermented with indigenous yeast, aged on lees for 6 months in two oak barrels (600 liter and 225 liter) and bottled unfined/unfiltered without added sulfites. The flavor is dry, aromatic, yeasty, and vibrant with a touch of red berries. Great with appetizers, charcuterie, and oily fish. So far, this wine is a big hit with staff and customers alike. 11.5% ABV.
