It’s a shame that this steel-vinified, wild-yeast, biodynamic white gets overlooked. It's a blend of Gruner Veltliner (50%), Welschriesling (40%), and Muscat, and we think maybe Welschriesling is to blame. People assume it’s the German variety, which is called Rhine Riesling. Welschriesling (aka Riesling Italico, Olaszrizling, Laški Rizling, Graševina) is much more common in Eastern Europe. Austria’s Burgenland is right near Hungary, so it makes sense for Meinklang to use Welschriesling in this white. Give it a try if you like Gruner or even New World Sauvignon Blanc! It’s a deliciously crisp and aromatic blend that’s perfect as an aperitif, with lighter fare, or even a schnitzel. 11.5%ABV.
