In the late 1990s, Nick and Andy Peay and Nick's wife, Vanessa Wong, were looking for an undiscovered wine-making spot. They finally settled in a remote part of the newer AVA known as Sonoma Coast, an hour north of San Francisco near Sea Ranch and Annapolis. Almost all their wine is produced with fruit grown on the 53-acre hilltop vineyard overlooking the cool and foggy Pacific Ocean four miles away.
As the second label, Cep Syrah is no different but costs a lot less for a mid-week treat. Cep cold-weather Syrah shows elegance and vibrancy unequaled by old-school Cali wines. It has moderate alcohol, balance, and litheness over notes of blackberries, lavender, cranberry, pepper, meat, and minerals. We also carry Cep Pinot Noir, Peay Pinot Noir, and Peay Chardonnay.
