Now standard bearers in French natural wine circles, Véronique & Aimé Guibert decided to start making fun fizz upon returning from a trip to Italy. Their pink sparkler is composed of a variety of Languedoc grapes from vintage to vintage, but in 2023, they settled on Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) and Petit Manseng. Luscious and delicious at 12% alcohol, Frizant is free-run juice fermented twice in the tank like a Prosecco, so the Extra Brut flavor and price are both easy to swallow. Bursting with currants, wild strawberries, and raspberries, the creamy Frizant is perfectly balanced with just enough tannin and acidity to balance the sweet, fresh fruit. Pair with desserts, mild cheese, spicy food, or drink as an aperitif.
