Hermann Wiemer is a winemaking pioneer in New York State. Born in the village of Bernkastel on the Mosel, Hermann discovered the optimal growing conditions for Riesling in the Finger Lakes, and in 1973, he established his winery on 140 acres of land on the west side of Lake Seneca. This hand-crafted, whole-cluster, wild yeast Riesling combines Trocken and Kabinett styles with a textured palate of spring flowers, green fruit, high acids, and a fair bit of petrol. The sweetness level is slightly more pronounced at 7 g/L R.S and 12% ABV, but it remains deftly balanced through the finish. Pair with Asian or German cuisine, poultry, and fish. No fining or filtering.
