Purchased in 2003 by the Faccenda family, Guidobono is an estate of 30-40-year-old vineyards that lie just outside Monforte d'Alba on limestone soil. While most of their Nebbiolo production is for Barolo, they use declassified fruit grown outside the demarcated areas to make some fantastic value Langhe wine. This steel-fermented 100% Nebbiolo is aged in large barrels and tastes much more expensive than it is. Medium-bodied, soft and dry with dark black fruit, roses, and earth, this easy-drinking wine has a long finish of balanced tannins and very light tar notes. Pair with meat sauces, beef, offal, mushrooms, and pork roasts. 14.5% ABV.
