Flaccianello della Pieve was initially classified as "Colli Toscana Centrale IGT" because it did not meet the DOCG Chianti requirements. Although regulations have changed, the name remains for this benchmark wine. It is crafted from Fontodi’s finest organic Sangiovese in Panzano’s Conco d’Oro. Fermented in steel with indigenous yeast and aged in French oak for 24 months, 50% new.
2020 is a blockbuster wine appreciated by reviewers, connoisseurs, and everyday Chianti-lovers alike. The palate showcases concentrated dark fruit—black cherry & plum—alongside supple tannins, crushed stones, red and blue floral notes, and a hint of baking spice. After 3 years of bottle aging, you can decant this now or lay it down for a few decades.
