There are so many Pinot Grigios made from purchased fruit and sold at a bargain price, and there is nothing wrong with that. We sell a perfectly good $6 half-bottle that fits the bill for a cheap quaff or recipe, but sometimes you want something a little nicer. Tiefenbrunner was founded in 1848 at the Castel Turmhof, which had been the site of wine production for centuries before that. It's still family-owned, and Christof Tiefenbrunner & Stefan Rohregger are the winemakers overseeing 60 acres across the Dolomite Alps of northeast Italy. This is cool-weather, minerally, fresh yet well-fruited Grigio with notes of citrus, blossoms, orchard fruit, and alpine meadows.
