La Boutanche is an international collective of natural winemakers who craft well priced, all-natural, soulful wines in liter bottles. Olivier Minot makes his version of La Boutanche with 100% Gamay harvested from 90-year-old vines in Southern Beaujolais. Wild yeast fermentation and aging takes place in concrete tanks, and it is bottled with zero sulfur—now, that’s really low-intervention. This wine is nothing like the usual juicy Bojo to which we’re accustomed: it is earthy with high acids, pure dark fruit, and structure on the finish. It’s a great party wine for a potluck or impromptu take-out dinner with friends. Chill lightly.
