Rosé Champagne has a public relations problem: some people find it indistinguishable from its Blanc counterpart, while others think it's too much like a red wine with bubbles, and the rest mistake it for an overpriced dessert sparkler. So, get ready for the Sacy family to dispel any misconceptions with their no-dosage Saignée Rosé! It is a single-vintage, old-vine Pinot Noir from three parcels in Verzy, where the family has been making wine since 1633. Expect a zingy, fresh, well-rounded, chalky dry wine with notes of wild berries, pears, and plums. And for $45 (a total bargain for such good Champagne), this is our choice for the upcoming holidays. Only 325 cases were produced.
