Produced by Clos de la Barthassade in central Languedoc, Cuvee H Rouge is a blend of Syrah (70%), Mourvèdre (15%), and Grenache (15%) which come from different vineyards within the sub-region of Coteaux du Languedoc. Whole clusters (50%) are placed in steel for a long, gentle, slow fermentation, and aging is done primarily in steel—and that's where the super fruity candy nose develops. However, the palate is medium-bodied, dry, and crunchy with lots of bramble berries, acidity, purple flowers, and a hint of pepper. Serve cool with summer fare.
