Located near the foothills of Colli Goriziani (3 miles west of Slovenia), Borgo Savaian di Bastiani Stefano is a family winery with just 44 acres of indigenous varietals—Nicola Biasi is the winemaker. Aransat (Friulian for orange) is a blend of de-stemmed Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc fermented on the skins and macerated for about 90 days to get a gorgeous Sherry-like orange color. Medium-bodied, dry with citrus and apricot on the nose and more stone fruit on the palate. Finishes with orange bitters, pine, and minerals. Pairs well with a variety of foods or as an aperitif.
