Agnes and Rene Mosse make some incredibly interesting wine on their 17 hectares of organic vineyards in the Loire. Named after a 1968 Jazz album by Archie Shepp, The Magic of Juju is a blend of 40% Chenin, 30% Sauvignon, and 30% Muscadelle sourced from Faye d'Anjou. Slow pressing allows light skin contact resulting in juice with a deep gold color that's wild-fermented in oak, all the way through malo, and bottled unfined/unfiltered. If this wine is anything like the album, we can't wait to hear it as we descend into a rhythmic mesmerizing chaos of racy acids, sour Spanish cider apples, and citrus rind. Pair with stinky cheeses, grilled chorizo, and fried foods.
