With their expansive vineyards in France's Southwest region, the Grassa family produces lots of white wine from traditional grapes like Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, Manseng, and Folle Blanche. Incidentally, some of the same varietals are blended and distilled into their Bas-Armagnac -- Cognac's country cousin. Blanche is a unique take on Armagnac because it uses 100% Folle Blanche and is not aged in barrels after distillation, so it's more like a clear eau-de-vie fruit brandy. Tariquet Blanche shows flavors of melon, roasted almond, golden raisins, and some light vegetal notes. Serve ice-cold with salmon, caviar, sorbet, or enjoy as a digestif like you would Grappa. 92 proof.
