This unique rosato vermouth is a collaboration between Angela Fronti of Istine in Chianti in Radda, and Bordiga, the vermouth artisans up in Cuneo. In this case, the vermouth is made with 100% Sangiovese rosé instead of the usual Piedmontese varietal blend. Light skin-contact wine is sweetened, fortified to 18% ABV, and flavored with angelica, orange, gentle wormwood, wormwood, cardamom, coriander, cassia, dittamus, fennel, gentian, lavender, kina, mint, quassio, rose, sage, rosemary, elder, satureja, linden, thyme, and violet. The result is bright, lively, complex, herbaceous, and lightly bitter-sweet on the finish. It's really a lovely drink on its own, poured over a bit of ice with a twist of orange.
