Sometimes, you're not in the mood for wine nor alcohol but still want a refreshing cocktail to tickle the taste buds. Created by Giulio Cocchi (coe-kee) in the 19th century, his Americano is made from a base of Piedmontese Moscato and neutral spirit flavored with herbs, roots, and citrus. Americano got its name because it was so popular with tourists visiting Milan and Torino in the old days. However, everyone still loves this modest 16.5% ABV Aperitivo, which incorporates the best qualities of wine, spirit, and vermouth. All-natural Americano is best served on the rocks with a splash of tonic, club soda, or Prosecco. Think of this like Lillet Blanc with some extra depth: lightly sweet with satisfying bitterness from gentian, cinchona, and citrus peel. We also carry Cocchi's amazing Sweet Vermouth.
