Pietro Bordiga was a Piedmontese herbalist who began producing his medicinal distillations in 1888 in Torino. He eventually moved to Cuneo, a village centrally located to Turin, the Mediterranean, and the Occitan Alps (bordering eastern France), where he sourced botanicals. Today's formula remains true to the original recipe, using pure Nebbiolo wine and local wild-foraged ingredients, including artemisia, elderberry, yarrow, dittany, gentiana, orange peel from Sicily, cardamom from Asia, and vanilla from Madagascar. The exotic retro label pays homage to the historic Spice Routes through Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Drink over ice with a twist or mix into your favorite cocktail. 18% ABV.
