Olivier Pichon established Grange St. Andre on 10 acres of Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, and Syrah in the commune of Souvignargues — about 12 miles west of Nimes. Le Marmot is 80% Cinsault, 15% Grenache, and 5% Carignan from a five-acre plot of clay, limestone, and sandy soils. The fruit is hand-picked and whole-cluster fermented in stainless steel for a light, crunchy, peppery, natural dark-berry wine best served chilled alongside simple preparations or takeout.
