Corbieres is well known for its bold Carignan-based red wines, but it's also a source of white and rosé blends. Bruno Laboucarié of Domaine de Fontsainte is a skilled winemaker who can coax the best out of all his varietals. He was among the first to use thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, cement vats, and gravity feeding. Still, it's all about terroir and flavor for Bruno. Gris de Gris is a saignée (bled directly from the vat) blend of 90% Grenache Gris plus 5% each Mourvedre and Carignan. Fontsainte is a year-round Rosé. Fuller-bodied, dry, salmon-colored with hints of peach, tropical fruit, and strawberry. Pair with duck, olives, kabobs, and meaty grilled fish.
