Founded in 1843 by a German emigre, Krug would become one of the Grandes Marques Champagne houses of Reims. It's now owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, along with giants like Moet, Veuve, and Ruinart, but that doesn't take away from a long history of winemaking cred. Brut Grande Cuvée 171ème Édition is from the 2015 harvest blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, and 18% Meunier, rounded out with wine from Krug's vast cellars. Notes of dried stone fruit, marzipan, spice cake, berries, quince, and lemon. Although this wine is still young, it is ready to pop for any special celebration or meal.
