Surrounded by durum wheat fields in the Principato di Villanova region of Sicily, about 100km southeast of Palermo, Feudo Montoni has been the site of winemaking since 1469. For the last three generations, the Sireci family has cultivated traditional, old-vine, high-altitude varietals (1800 feet) like Nerello Mascalese. Fabio crafts Rosé di Adele with fruit grown in a former rose garden named after his mother -- and you can certainly taste rose petals in this fresh, dry, crisp, quaffable Nerello that's cement-vinified and aged. Notes of peach, wild strawberry gelée, pink peppercorn, and pomegranate.
